This secondary antibody for IP Detection Reagent (HRP) preferentially detects the non-reduced form over the reduced, SDS-denatured forms. IP sample should be completely reduced/denatured before loaded onto a western blot.
When used for IP, if the primary antibody is rabbit IgG, this secondary antibody will slightly recognize the heavy chain of denatured rabbit IgG, thus failing to achieve the goal of avoiding antibody heavy chains.
