The nucleocapsid is bullet-shaped with the tip containing 8 turns of a conical spiral before reaching the helical cylindrical trunk . Nucleocapsid assembly is concomitant with replication, therefore viral replication depends on the intracellular concentration of free N, termed N(0). All replicative products are resistant to nucleases. .
